Larry L. Hillblom Foundation

WELCOME

The Foundation

The LLHF is a California non-profit public benefit corporation. It is funded through a bequest from Larry L. Hillblom, a respected international businessman who was one of the three founders of DHL Worldwide Express. By virtue of Mr. Hillblom’s will, substantially all of the Foundation’s funding should be used to support medical research with particular attention to research programs conducted by the University of California.

The LLHF Board has determined that its initial medical research priorities should be in the areas of diabetes mellitus and diseases associated with aging.

Year 2010 Grant Funding Status

In calendar years 2009-2010, the Larry L. Hillblom Foundation anticipates that it will fund and monitor sixteen ongoing Network Grants and more than forty Start-Up and Fellowship Grants. The budgetary constraints resulting from supporting these ongoing grants preclude the Foundation from accepting applications for new Network, Start-Up or Fellowship grants for the 2010 funding cycle. Please visit our website in September 2010 for information regarding funding opportunities for our January 2011 grant cycle.

The Hillblom Foundation is pleased to continue supporting the many extraordinary research scientists in the State of California through previously funded grant applications.
